Common questions

How do I create an account?

Use "Get early access" to open the sign-up page, enter your details, and confirm your email with the code we send you. The code expires after 5 minutes; you can ask for a new one after a short wait.

How do I add my first subscription?

Open Subscriptions and add a new one. You can pick a service from the library or enter your own, then set its plan, cost and billing cycle. The guided setup can add a whole stack of common services in a few clicks.

How do I see upcoming renewals?

Renewals and trial endings appear on the dashboard and on the calendar. You can also subscribe to the renewal calendar in Google Calendar or Apple Calendar.

How do I add or update a saved login?

Open the subscription and use its credentials card to add a login or change an existing one. If you change a password at the service, update it here too so your team isn't using an old one.

How do I set up TOTP for a subscription?

Open the subscription's 2FA card and add the service's setup key, by scanning its QR code or pasting the key. Subment then generates that service's codes on request. Keep the service's own recovery codes with the subscription.

Is the OTP inbox available?

Not yet. It's in development, so there's nothing to set up today. TOTP codes, which cover most two-factor logins, work now (see MFA & TOTP).

How do I share a subscription without sending the password?

Give the person access to the subscription at the level you choose: View, Use or Manage. At Use they can copy the password or a 2FA code without seeing the password. You can also send a one-time link that opens once, then stops working.

What happens when someone leaves?

Use the offboarding view to see everything the person could reach, take that access back in one step, and get a checklist of the logins they knew. Subment can't change a password at the service for you, so the checklist ticks off as you change them.

Do I have to pay to use Subment?

No. Subment is currently free during Early Access, and no payment method is needed. Early Access is temporary, and paid billing isn't active yet.

I forgot my password.

Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in page. We email you a code, valid for 5 minutes, and you set a new password with it. If the email doesn't arrive, check spam and request another.

Security concern?

If you believe you've discovered a security issue, please report it through our security contact channel.

Describe what you found and how to reproduce it, without real credentials or other people's data. We don't currently run a bug bounty or a formal vulnerability disclosure program.

Never send passwords, recovery codes, API secrets, or OTP codes through support chat or email.

Support never needs them, and will never ask for them. If someone claiming to be from Subment asks for one, don't send it. To describe a problem, say what you see, not what the secret is.
